Default Chip Ferrite Bead Reliability

How have you dealt with SMT chip ferrite beads when performing reliability predictions in M217, Bellcore and PRISM?

Default Reliability Chip Ferrite Bead

Failure rate models for ferrite bead components are not available in Mil-Hdbk-217, Bellcore or Prism. Prism has failure information which can be used from the generic data base attached to the program. This generic failure data indicates a failure rate of 12 or 13 FITS (failures per billion hours)for benign conditions. So one could use this value which was collected at ground benign or controlled conditions and extrapolate it to the expected use conditions. The Reliability Toolkit; Commercial Practices Edition has conversion factors for estimating the environment change impact.
