Thanks for the reply. And wouldn't you know it, just after I wrote this message, I received the AC 25.1309-1A. I had ordered it the week before and with it in hand I set up the probability levels. As for the always active, well, that is still a question, since the battery life may be the active life. Again, still working the issue. Thanks again. Beth

Default Modem Failure Rates

Does anybody have a generic failure rate for a standard Modem.

Default Modem Reliability

Reliability information exists from many sources. I suggest that you survey the web for information. My survey indicates the following possibilities:
RAS Multiport -- 23,076 hours MTBF (Mil-Hdbk-217)
RAS Multiport -- 86,903 hours MTBF (Bellcore)
Satisfaxtion 400 -- 231,600 hours MTBF (Unknown source)
Satisfaction 200 -- 322,900 hours MTBF (Unknown source)
Sixnet -- 441,860 hours MTBF (Field operation)
Nokia -- 236,500 hours MTBF ( Unknown source)
Blue Max -- 500,000 hours MTBF (Unknown source)
